AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Singer Bruno Mars announced Saturday night at his concert in Auburn Hills that he would be donating $1 million to Flint.
Flint has been in the midst of a water crisis after switching to the Flint River as the city's water source in April 2014. Lead began leaching into the drinking water supply from pipes, causing rashes and illnesses.

Isaiah Oliver, president of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, responded to Mars' donation on Sunday:
With a grateful heart, the Community Foundation of Greater Flint is honored to accept this inspiring donation. We know Bruno Mars' $1 million gift will be transformative to the children and families of Flint. He understands the issues faced by Flint citizens, and we are touched by his concern and generosity."
