The pictures are heart wrenching - a dog with a wire cable around his neck has been rescued in Southgate.
The Downriver Animal Control center found the pup Friday afternoon. Someone had a put a wire cable around his neck and every time he tried to free himself it tightened basically slicing his throat open. On Monday they said they are confident there will be no long term damage to the dog.
Rescuers are asking for the public's help in finding whoever is responsible for this animal abuse.
The vet bills have cost Downriver Animal Control over a $1000. If you would like to make a donation or know who the owner is please call 734-246-1328 or contact them at 14300 Reaume Parkway in Southgate.
