Following his passing in Westland, Michigan, family, friends, and brothers gathered to honor a man known just as much for his vibrant personality and professional success as his athletic gifts. 🏈 Football Legacy at Inkster High School Kim Hammons is remembered as an all-star, standout football player for Inkster High School. As a prominent member of the Class of 1981, his athletic talent on the field earned him a reputation as an elite competitor within the Detroit-area high school sports community. His time as an Inkster athletic star laid the foundation for a lifetime of deep connections within the "Inktown" community. 🏛️ Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Affiliation & Tributes Hammons was a proud and active member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.. His commitment to the fraternity and its bond of brotherhood was a defining cornerstone of his life. Following his passing, his fraternity brothers mobilized to honor his memory with several high-profile tributes: Cedric the Entertainer’s Tribute: Renowned comedian and actor Cedric the Entertainer, a fellow Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity brother, shared a personal video tribute honoring Kim Hammons' life and their shared fraternal bond. Funeral Service Memorial: During his final services, managed by the Chapel of Chimes Funeral Home in Westland, MI, his Kappa Alpha Psi brothers performed a heartfelt fraternity tribute to celebrate his legacy and say their final goodbyes. 💼 Professional and Academic Life beyond sports and fraternal life, Hammons built a highly respected professional career:Professional Success: He was widely recognized as a top-performing salesman and manager for TruGreen Lawncare, earning promotions that took him from Lansing, Michigan to major regional roles in Long Island and Rochester, New York.Higher Education: An advocate for continuous learning, he attended Ferris State University—where he was also involved with the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi—Lansing Community College, and Michigan State University, where he went on to earn a Master's Degree.
