Michigan falls to Notre Dame in close NCAA Tournament battle

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Michigan's NCAA Tournament run came to an end Saturday morning, when the Wolverines fell to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 70-63, in the First Round.

Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman led Michigan with 15 points. Derrick Walton Jr. scored 10 points to lead Michigan to a 12-point halftime lead, but Notre Dame's second-half charge erased it.

The Fighting Irish were led by V.J. Beachem's 18 points on a perfect 7-7 shooting night.

Michigan finished the season with a 23-13 record.

Notre Dame will advance to the Round of 32 and battle No. 14 Stephen F. Austin for a spot in the Sweet 16.
