DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings will be wearing a special patch on their jerseys to honor late team owner Mike Ilitch.
Ilitch, affectionately known as "Mr. I," died this past week. He was 87.

The Red Wings already are wearing a "No. 9" patch this season to honor the legendary Gordie Howe, who died this past summer at the age of 88.
