ANN ARBOR, Mich. – University of Michigan running back Kingston Davis is reportedly transferring from the Michigan football program, Scout.com's Sam Webb announced Friday.
Davis, a member of Jim Harbaugh's 2016 recruiting class, got two carries as a freshman, gaining 17 yards against Hawaii. He ran for 10 yards and seven yards in his two carries wearing the Winged Helmet.

"Father of Michigan RB Kingston Davis told me his son informed U-M today of plan to transfer," Webb tweeted at 2:53 p.m. Friday.
Davis is leaving the Wolverines due to the team's crowded depth chart at running back and talk of moving him to fullback, according to Webb.

Michigan's deep running-back core returns Chris Evans, Karan Higdon and Ty Isaac ahead of Davis on the 2017 spring depth chart. Former five-star recruit Kareem Walker will likely join the mix as well after redshirting as a true freshman.
At fullback, the Wolverines give most of their snaps to Khalid Hill, who found the end zone 10 times last season, and Henry Poggi, who is a blocking specialist.
Davis enrolled at Michigan Jan. 4, 2016, out of Prattville High School in Prattville, Alabama. The former three-star prospect was considered the No. 1 fullback in the country by 247 Sports.
