Michigan snowboarder trying to make US Olympic team featured in national ad No description found
DETROIT – Michigan snowboarder Zoe Kalapos is trying to make the U.S. Olympics team, all while being featured in a national Subaru commercial.
Kalapos is from Beverly Hills, Michigan - she's one of a group of local snowboarders trying to qualify for the 2018 Winter Games.
Here's some background on her from US Snowboarding:
Zoe first learned to ski at the age of two with her parents as her instructors at Boyne Highlands in Harbor Springs, Michigan. When Zoe was five, her father turned her on to snowboarding when he bought a snow making gun, a rail and a box, added some jumps and created a mini park in their backyard. Zoe and her brother Ian spent countless hours training on Mt. Kalapos. At age 10, Zoe began competing in the USASA Middle Earth series in slopestyle, boardercross and halfpipe. Two years ago Zoe decided to focus solely on riding halfpipe.
