The Detroit Red Wings have selected forward Michael Rasmussen at 9th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Rasmussen, of Surrey, B.C., scored 55 points in 50 games played this past season with the WHL's Tri-City Americans. At 6-foot-6, 215 pounds he is an imposing center.
