  • Optioned RHP Brendan White to Triple A Toledo
  • Reassigned RHP’s Garrett Hill, Jackson Jobe & Ty Madden, LHP Brant Hurter & C Eliezer Alfonzo to Minor League camp

I asked my colleague Derick Hutchinson if any of the moves surprised him -- he said no. In fact, according to Derick, Jobe and Madden were told at the start of camp that they wouldn’t be on the major league roster.

The Tigers now had 54 players on the major league roster at camp. They’ll have to get that down to 26 for the regular season.

The Tigers open the season on March 28 in Chicago, and in Detroit on April 5 vs. Oakland.
