Kyle Finnegan returns to Detroit Tigers bullpen after nearly 3 weeks on injured list

The back end of the Tigers bullpen just got a whole lot better

DETROITKyle Finnegan, everyone’s favorite splitter-throwing, high-leverage bullpen acquisition, has recovered from his groin injury and is officially back with the Detroit Tigers.

Finnegan went on the 15-day IL September 5, retroactive to Sept 1, with a right adductor strain in his groin.

He began a rehab assignment with AAA-Toledo on Sept 18.

He threw 13 pitches and struck out one batter in 0.2 innings, inducing two whiffs on six swings.

As of Sept 19, he has been activated off the IL and will be available to pitch during the Atlanta Braves series.

As the corresponding move, RP Bailey Horn has been optioned to AAA-Toledo.
