In September, St. Brown Foundation launched a brand-new partnership with Durfee Elementary-Middle School and Rhymes with Reason, a music-powered youth literacy program.

St. Brown Foundation funded the program for 100 students at Durfee. Students from Durfee who excelled in the program were in attendance celebrating with the St. Brown family.

Nearly 60% of third graders in Michigan failed to meet state reading standards based on the 2024 Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress.

Through Rhymes with Reason, St. Brown Foundation aims to reverse that statistic and help close the reading gap in Detroit.
