There was some uncertainty surrounding Hiter’s commitment on Signing Day because he wasn’t officially announced, as expected.

But Michigan football confirmed his addition to the class at 7:19 a.m. Thursday.

Hiter joins a backfield that could have both Justice Haynes and Jordan Marshall returning in 2026.

Haynes was in the conversation for top running back in college football this year before his injury. He rushed for 857 yards and 10 touchdowns on 121 carries (7.1 yards per rush).

Marshall finished as Michigan’s leading rusher, with 932 yards and 10 touchdowns on 150 carries (6.2 yards per rush).

The Wolverines have the No. 11 recruiting class in the country for 2026.
