The Detroit Lions announced Tuesday that the team has parted ways with offensive coordinator John Morton.

No further details were provided by the team regarding the decision. Morton had been with the Lions for one season, replacing former coordinator Ben Johnson overseeing the team’s offense during the 2025 campaign.

The Lions will begin the search for a new offensive coordinator immediately.

Head coach Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties mid-season, so the move wasn’t much of a surprise.
