Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo announced sophomore guard Divine Ugochukwu will miss the remainder of the season due to a foot injury.
Ugochukwu suffered the injury in Michigan State’s 76-73 loss against Minnesota on Feb. 4, and will have surgery next week.

Izzo said Ugochukwu will be able to return in the spring after he recovers from surgery.
The sophomore guard recently worked his way into the starting lineup by becoming a steady ball handler that could contribute solid outside shooting.
Ugochukwu shot 44% from beyond the arc, which was the second-highest three point shooting percentage on the team behind freshman forward Jesse McCulloch (47%).
The injury is a major blow to the team’s already scarce backcourt and limited three point shooting. The Spartans have struggled to find consistency at the shooting guard position and are an average three point shooting team, shooting 35% on the year.
