Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon says he plans to convert two-way guard Daniss Jenkins to a standard NBA contract by Monday, Feb. 9
As a two-way player, Jenkins is allowed 50 games as an active roster player before he must be converted to a standard contract or sent back to the G-League. Jenkins was unavailable in the Pistons’ game against the Wizards on Feb. 5 but is available against the Knicks on Feb. 6, which is his 50th game on the roster.

Langdon spoke to media before the Pistons’ game against the New York Knicks, clarifying trade deadline moves and what the plan is for Jenkins’ contract.
“Obviously everybody knows this is his 50th game and his last game on his two-way so we’re having conversations with his agent about what that looks like going forward,” said Langdon. “We’ll convert him over the weekend, and he’ll be a roster player in our game against Charlotte, at least that’s the goal, that’s the hope for the weekend after this game.”
Jenkins has made the most of his opportunity on the roster as a backup point guard, averaging 8 PPG, 3 AST on 42% shooting from the field and 39% from three point range.
According to reports, Jenkins refused a two-year minimum deal prior to the trade deadline. Jenkins will likely be signed for the remainder of the year and weigh his options as a free agent during the off-season.
