The Detroit Pistons have signed guard Daniss Jenkins to a standard NBA contract.
The terms of the deal were not officially disclosed by the Pistons but according to ESPN, the deal is a two-year contract with a team option for 2026-2027. In a related move, the Pistons have waived recent trade acquisition Dario Saric.

The deal comes days after Jenkins reached the 50-game limit for a two-way player against the New York Knicks on Feb. 6. After the game, Jenkins was to be converted to a standard contract or sent back to the G League.
Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon indicated before the game that he intended to convert Jenkins to a standard contract by Feb. 9, which is the date of the Pistons’ next game against the Charlotte Hornets.
Jenkins has made the most of his opportunity on the roster as a backup point guard, averaging 8 PPG, 3 AST on 43% shooting from the field and 39% from three point range.
In seven games as a starter this season, Jenkins has averaged 15.3 points, 6.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals while shooting 41.6%.
In Jenkins’ final game as a two-way player he finished with an 18 points and three assists in the Pistons’ 118-80 blowout win against the New York Knicks.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Jenkins was signed to a two-way NBA contract as an undrafted free agent on July 6, 2024. Jenkins appeared in 47 games last season for the Motor City Cruise, NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, where he averaged 18.5 points, 6.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.4 steals while shooting 43% from the field.
Jenkins was named to the 2025 NBA G League All-Rookie Team. Prior to his NBA career, Jenkins played his senior year of college at St John’s, averaging 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game on 44.6% shooting from the field and was named to the All-Big East second team.
