Top recruits in Michigan highlight league championship showdown

NORTHVILLE, Mich. – Two of the top teams in the state are squaring off Thursday as Belleville and Howell meet with a league title on the line.

Both teams are ranked in the top 10 of the Michigan high school girls basketball poll. Undefeated Belleville is No. 1 and led by five-star junior Sydney Savoury and Miss Basketball candidate Se’Crette Carter.

Savoury is a top-10 recruit in the 2027 class. Carter is heading to Marquette after this season.

Howell, ranked No. 8 with only one loss, is led by the No. 1 recruit in the state for 2026, Lilly Williams.

Williams, a 6-foot-5 center, is committed to Michigan State.

Belleville and Howell are scheduled to meet in the KLAA Championship Game, which tips off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026.

Both teams went a perfect 14-0 in league play, with Howell winning the West Division and Belleville winning the East Division.
