DETROIT – It didn't take long for Detroit Tigers rookie JaCoby Jones to make noise as the team's starting center fielder.
The 24-year-old came up to bat in the second inning Tuesday against White Sox ace Jose Quintana and launched his first career home run into the left field bleachers.

The blast erased a 1-0 deficit and put the Tigers ahead 3-1.
Jones showed a strong power stroke in the minor leagues after he was acquired from the Pirates at the 2015 trade deadline for relief pitcher Joakim Soria. In 28 at-bats last season, Jones had six hits, including three doubles.
