Chuck Gaidica is leaving the weather desk after 27 years for new challenges, including Local 4's new project, Force4Good.
So as we say good luck to Chuck as he makes this transition, ClickOnDetroit went deep into our archives to bring you 27 Hours Of Chuck. Over the next, well, 27 hours we'll post a throwback Chuck clip every hour to chronicle his tenure here at Local 4.
It was the mid-1990s, Bill Clinton was battling Newt Gingrich, a group of six "Friends" taught America how to laugh, and Local 4 unveiled its Doppler 4000 radar system. This was truly high-tech for its time, on par with a Pentium 1 computer with 66 MHz processor, 8 MB of RAM and an entire gigabyte of hard drive space.
