The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has dropped an investigation into a buy now, pay later company linked to President Donald Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. The agency says the investigation was politically motivated against firearms companies and Trump Jr. On Tuesday, the CFPB notified Public Square Holdings subsidiary Credova it was no longer under investigation.

The House panel investigating the U.S. Capitol insurrection is demanding records and testimony from a former White House aide they say helped draft former President Donald Trump’s Jan. 6 speech, along with two others it says were in communication with people close to Trump.
