As a 10-year-old, Daniel Baxter didn’t fully grasp the level of history that lies inside 2905 Garland St. on Detroit’s southeast side.

Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey is estimating upwards of 290,000 Detroiters will vote during the general election.

Absentee ballot requests are up substantially since 2018. Currently, 1.6 million absentee ballot requests have been made, and 432,906 have already been returned.
