Andrew H. Middlebrooks, the former majority owner, chief executive officer, chief investment officer, and portfolio manager of EIA All Weather Alpha Fund 1 Partners (EIA), has been sentenced to 100 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to wire fraud charges.

A 30-year-old Detroit man who was once considered a “child prodigy” convinced at least 100 investors to spend millions of dollars on a fraudulent company and hid the fact that it was experiencing “catastrophic losses,” officials said.

Andrew Middlebrooks is charged with running a Ponzi scheme that eventually imploded, losing investors millions of dollars along the way.
