Apple unveiled new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro laptops on Tuesday, and got rid of its cheapest and smallest models. The $999 MacBook Air and 12-inch MacBook appear to have been removed from the Apple store, making the cheapest laptop the new MacBook Air which costs $1,099. The one exception is for college students, who can buy the new MacBook Air at a discount for $999. The 13-inch MacBook Air and 12-inch MacBook were first released in 2015. The 12-inch MacBook was smaller and less powerful than the MacBook Pro line but more expensive than the Air line.
