Members of the gold-medal-winning 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team get recognized around the towns they now call home.

Officials in Anoka County, Minnesota, confirmed Friday that Pavelich died at the Eagle's Healing Nest in Sauk Centre, Minnesota, on Thursday morning. “We are saddened to hear about the passing of 1980 Olympic gold medalist Mark Pavelich,” USA Hockey said in a statement. “Mark Pavelich always let me join with the Eveleth guys.
