Community leaders, advocates, and grieving parents gathered on Detroit’s east side to launch “Protect the Zone,” a summer safety campaign aimed at preventing violence in neighborhoods, schools, and parks.

On Wednesdays in the City of Detroit, you might see a group of people walking the streets led by police chief James White. It’s an effort to speak directly to people in their neighborhoods about gun safety.
