The Paris Paralympics flame has been lit in the British village of Stoke Mandeville, widely considered the birthplace of the Paralympic Games.

With an assist from Paul McCartney the Paralympic Games is starting its 100-day race to the opening ceremony in Paris on Aug. 28.

Russians and Belarusians will be allowed to compete as neutral athletes at next year’s Paralympics in Paris after avoiding a full ban from the event following the invasion of Ukraine.
