Chaka Khan, Cher, Carlos Santana, Paul Simon, Fela Kuti, and Whitney Houston have received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy at the Grammys Special Merit Awards.

Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott and Lil Wayne will be honored at the Recording Academy’s second annual Black Music Collective event during Grammy week next month.
