Private pilot ground school classes, drone training, aircraft mechanics and other classes are being offered through the Tuskegee Airmen National Museum at the Coleman A. Young Airport in Detroit, and the opportunities are not just for adults.

The museum received a $500,000 grant from the Federal Aviation Administration to attend its youth program. It’s part of the FAA’s $10 million effort to educate students on careers in aviation.

These pilots volunteered their time, planes and fuel to take dozens of kids up in the air. Tuskegee Airmen National Museum hopes it will inspire kids to pursue careers in aerospace engineering and aviation.
