It’s official, the WNBA is coming back to Detroit. The Women’s National Basketball Association and NBA Board of Governors have approved three new expansion teams.

Detroit Edison Public School Academy (DEPSA) is throwing a watch party for former student Rickea Jackson, who is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2024 WNBA draft.

On April 15, the WNBA kicked off its annual draft virtually, and two players with Michigan ties were looking to earn a roster spot.

Williams has been with the Sparks since 2016 after playing four seasons with the Tulsa Shock.
