Hard working Detroiters have big appetites. Wimpy little sandwiches just won't do.
For decades, Detroiters have found their fuel on one corner in Detroit, about a mile west of Corktown on Michigan Avenue: Hygrade Deli and Mike's Famous Ham Shop.
These two places have taken the art of sandwich making to a whole new level, literally. Located right across the street from each other, they both take pride in stacking premium Detroit sandwich ingredients sky high.
Could this corner be the greatest sandwich Mecca in the state? The country?
