Nurse LaToya Freeman turns family tragedy into healing legacy with home healthcare

Nurse LaToya Freeman founded her home healthcare company, "Love is Zaki," in 2023, inspired by a family tragedy and named after her godson. Dedicated to providing compassionate care, Freeman serves 11 patients, including her mother, focusing on personalized medical attention and empowerment, allowing patients to confidently engage in their healthcare. She also established the Ann Arbor chapter of the National Black Nurses Association to support nurses of color. Freeman finds fulfillment in her work, cherishing moments when patients are well-prepared for their medical appointments and the joy she brings to others.
