EPA celebrates Flint’s water, but public trust is still damaged

The Flint water crisis, which began in 2014, has reached a point where the EPA now considers the water safe after 11 years, citing 17 tests showing acceptable copper and lead levels. Despite this, public trust remains severely damaged as no one has been held criminally accountable, nor has anyone been fully compensated, leading to widespread disbelief in the water's safety. The crisis has left lasting impacts on the community, with ongoing suffering and irrevocable changes to children's lives, highlighting a trust issue that persists despite significant financial investments aimed at improving conditions in Flint.
