Michigan one of six states in USDA's new raw milk testing program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is launching a nationwide program to test raw milk for traces of bird flu, particularly H5N1, in dairy cattle. This initiative follows a positive test result from a California farm, with raw milk also being linked to other illnesses. The program initially includes six states: Michigan, California, Colorado, Mississippi, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, and aims at early detection of bird flu, highlighting the risks associated with consuming raw milk.
