Adult with measles traveled through Detroit Metro Airport: What to know

Health officials have issued a warning about potential measles exposure at Metro Airport due to an infected individual from Kent County present on March 25 and March 27-28. Measles is highly contagious, easily spreading through aerosolized particles that remain infectious for up to two hours. Symptoms typically appear within one to two weeks, but monitoring is recommended for up to 21 days. Individuals potentially exposed should be alert for symptoms such as high fever, cough, runny nose, and conjunctivitis, and contact their doctor if these symptoms develop.
