New guidlines call for syphilis testing early in pregnancy

It's a test now recommended for all pregnant women early in their pregnancy. This week, the United States Preventive Services Task Force called for universal syphilis screening during pregnancy. That's because the number of babies being infected has climbed to the highest level in three decades. The new guidelines are aimed at reversing that trend.
