New study finds possible link between common virus, parkinson’s disease
More than a million Americans are living with parkinson's disease. And despite advances in treatment, there is still so much that we don't understand about what causes the disease. A new study has found a possible link to a common virus. It's called human pegivirus. It can be transmitted through blood, sexual contact, or from mother to child. The virus typically doesn't cause any symptoms, but this research raises the possibility it could play a role in parkinson's. It's an exciting development for one patient, who is used to lots of thrills and spills.
