Michigan doctor expands COVID vaccine eligibility, calls unvaccinated an underlying condition

On the same day the CDC made COVID-19 vaccines available without a prescription, Michigan's top doctor, Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian, declared that not receiving the updated vaccine is an "underlying condition," allowing every Michigander over six months old eligibility for the vaccine. This decision aligns with Governor Gretchen Whitmer's directive to enhance vaccine access, contrasting with federal limitations that reserve shots for seniors and individuals with specific health risks.
