AI-assisted MRI aims to detect prostate cancer earlier

Researchers are exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in prostate cancer detection to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of MRI scans. At Cleveland Clinic, AI is paired with MRI to detect cancerous lesions more precisely and reduce unnecessary biopsies. New AI algorithms are being tested to produce clearer images and improve diagnostic accuracy by distinguishing cancerous areas from benign ones. A clinical trial at the clinic involves patients receiving results from both physicians and AI to validate the approach before wider clinical implementation.
