24-year-old becomes first in Michigan to receive new gene therapy for sickle cell disease

A 24-year-old college student became the first person in Michigan to receive a new, commercially available gene therapy for sickle cell disease. After a lifetime of battling the disease, he says it feels like a huge blessing.
