Historic Grand Canyon Lodge lost to wildfire
The Dragon Bravo wildfire has devastated the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, destroying the historic Grand Canyon Lodge and approximately 50 other structures. The fire, which has charred 5,000 acres, remains uncontained and has led to evacuations and the closure of trails and campgrounds. Although no injuries or deaths have been reported, the destruction has significantly impacted the area's infrastructure and economy. Efforts to coordinate evacuations were successful, and there are already plans forming to rebuild, but the North Rim will remain closed to visitors for the rest of the 2025 season.
