Protect your skin by washing new clothes
Before wearing new clothes, it's important to wash them to remove chemicals from manufacturing that may irritate sensitive skin, particularly for babies. New clothes can also collect dust, dirt, and bugs during transit and handling. Consumer Reports recommends washing similar colors together in cold water on a gentle cycle and using a gentle detergent like Persil Everyday Clean free & Sensitive or Costco’s Kirkland Signature Ultra Clean Free & Clear. Fabric softeners should be avoided as they can irritate skin, leave residue, and potentially make fabrics more flammable. Always follow care label instructions to prolong the life of your garments.
