Heroic retiree Gregory Hill killed in Royal Oak shooting

Gregory Hill, a 65-year-old maintenance worker and General Motors retiree, was fatally shot on July 31 while attempting to call 911 during a dispute at the Royal Oak apartment complex where he worked. Known for his selflessness and dedication to helping others, Hill's death left the community grieving, with residents creating a memorial in his honor. The suspect, Nathaniel Joshua-Olson Rockwell, 32, has been charged with first-degree murder and other firearm-related offenses; he was denied bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 11.
