Hamtramck fires city manager, police chief, officer amid corruption allegations

The city of Hamtramck has dismissed City Manager Max Garbarino, Police Chief Jamiel Altaheri, and Officer David Adamczyk following a city council meeting, amid allegations of corruption and misconduct reported by an external law firm. The terminations have sparked legal action, with Garbarino and Adamczyk filing a whistleblower lawsuit that now includes wrongful termination claims, while Altaheri's attorney has filed a counterclaim and suggested further legal actions. Despite the costs, including a $400,000 investigation and potential settlements, the mayor is prepared to defend the city's actions.
