Russian missile, drone strike kills 23 in Kyiv including children
A major Russian missile and drone strike on Kyiv resulted in 23 deaths, including four children, and at least 53 injuries, marking one of the largest attacks in weeks. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy described the assault as a reaction from President Putin to European leaders' calls to end the war. The U.S. has responded by authorizing a substantial sale of air-launched cruise missiles to Ukraine, valued at $825 million. Meanwhile, President Putin plans to visit Beijing for a World War II Victory Day parade, meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
