Oakland County hosts SMART bus rodeo, celebrating skill and service of drivers

Novi recently hosted a SMART bus rodeo for the first time since 1985, featuring buses navigating an obstacle course at the Suburban Collection. Tiffany Gunter, SMART’s general manager, was inspired to revive the event after witnessing an international competition, emphasizing the skill and dedication required by bus drivers like Willie Kendal. The rodeo celebrated the precision and commitment of drivers who navigate challenging conditions, highlighting the importance of their work. SMART plans to make this event an annual tradition, honoring the essential role of public transit drivers.
