Henry Ford Genesys Hospital strike raises staffing concerns after church shooting
Questions have been raised about Henry Ford Genesys Hospital's staffing adequacy during the recent church attack in Grand Blanc Township, as nearly 750 registered nurses have been on strike. Some striking nurses attempted to assist during the emergency but were turned away due to lack of system access and security protocols. Hospital officials insisted that the hospital was appropriately staffed and able to handle the situation, treating ten patients from the church incident. Meanwhile, contract negotiations between the hospital and the nurses' union remain stalled.
