Join Capuchin Soup Kitchen’s 53rd annual sock dinner to support Detroit community

Capuchin Soup Kitchen in Detroit has been aiding the community for over 140 years, serving more than 236,000 meals and distributing over 3 million pounds of food in 2024, marking a 23% increase from the previous year. Additionally, they provide academic and social support to children and offer long-term sobriety programs assisting over 1,000 men. Executive Director Brother Gary Wegner and Nate Standing, a resident at the Jefferson House, discussed their mission. The 53rd Sock Dinner fundraiser is set for Oct. 24 at Huntington Place, with tickets available at sockdinner.org.
