How DNR program 'Hunters Feeding Michigan' helps families in need
In about two weeks, hunters across Michigan will get ready for firearm season. If you are getting a deer or two but don't need all the venison, you can help other Michiganders. A DNR program called Hunters Feeding Michigan connects hunters, wild game processors and charities to make sure venison gets to those who need it most. Last year, the program donated more than 560,000 meals to people struggling to put food on the table. Since, 2007, Hunters Feeding Michigan has provided more than 3 million servings of venison to families in need.
