Longtime Southfield Councilman Dr. Lloyd C. Crews dies; remembered as education, inclusion advocate
Dr. Lloyd C. Crews, a Southfield Councilman since 2014, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of advocacy for education, diversity, and inclusion. Known for his involvement in community service and leadership, Crews coordinated significant events like the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Convocation and founded the OCC Man Up program. He was recognized with numerous awards for his efforts in promoting cultural diversity and mentoring young men. With a career spanning over 20 years in higher education and public service, Crews was a respected speaker and leader dedicated to the betterment of Southfield and its community.
