How creatine supplementation may boost memory, attention in Alzheimer’s patients

Recent research from the University of Kansas Medical Center suggests that creatine supplementation, commonly used by athletes for muscle recovery, may enhance cognitive functions such as memory and attention in Alzheimer's patients. A pilot study involving 20 participants revealed an 11% increase in brain creatine levels and improved cognitive performance after eight weeks of taking 20 grams of creatine monohydrate daily. While results are promising, experts like registered dietitian Ruth Franklin highlight the need for larger studies and recommend consulting healthcare professionals before using creatine as a brain supplement.
